FAQ

Do you have a brick and mortar office, or are you strictly online?
I don’t have a physical office location. My clients appreciate the flexibility I’m able to provide by working online. Please visit my Why Online Therapy page!
How does telehealth (online therapy) work? Is it just texting back and forth?
I provide online therapy virtually using video chat. If you’ve ever used FaceTime, then you get the picture, although, to protect your privacy, I use a HIPAA-compliant platform.
Will I need to have a computer?
Most of my clients like using a computer because it provides optimal eye contact for both of us. However, you can also use your iPad/tablet or phone if you prefer.
What are your business hours?

I’m available Monday through Thursday all day and evenings.

I’m willing to work with you if your needs are outside this time frame – that flexibility is another great benefit of online therapy!

How long are sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes.
How much do you charge?
$95 per session.
Do you take insurance? Why or why not?

I do not accept insurance although I can provide a “superbill” so you can use your out-of-network benefits. Let me know if you have questions about this process.

Many bigger counseling agencies that accept insurance are able to do so because they have a dedicated member of their team to coordinate with insurance.

Since I work alone, I’ve determined I’m able to be more productive and available for my clients when I’m able to keep my focus on helping you achieve your goals.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

Call or email me today, and we can set up a time to talk for about 10 minutes on the phone.

This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have, and it allows us both to make sure we’re a good fit for each other.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for 24 hours’ notice if you’re unable to make it to an appointment to avoid getting charged for the session.

That time allows me to make sure that others needing an appointment also have the opportunity to be seen, as I save your appointment time especially for you.

What modalities do you use?

Great question.

Each client’s needs are different – that means I don’t use a cookie-cutter approach. I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Solution-Focused, and many other modalities including EMDR. We will discuss the approach that would best suit you and why. 🙂

Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
Absolutely! Please visit my LGBTQ+ page.
